Backstage reports have given an insight as to why London’s O2 Arena was chosen to host the WWE PLE Money in the Bank.

In a report by Fightful Select, those in WWE view the O2 arena as the “MSG of London” and it was “a venue they wanted to travel to.”

The report goes on to state that the location and arena choice is designed to make the Money in the Bank event more prestigious, signifying the importance of the event. It should also be noted that there were backstage reports in 2022 that the Money in the Bank event was going to be scrapped in favour of the respective ladder matches taking place at WrestleMania. The international date and iconic venue seems to indicate that the PLE is here to stay.

WWE announced that a Premium Live Event would be returning to the UK back at the start of the year. The return follows the success of the Clash at the Castle event in September 2022.

WWE Money in the Bank will be broadcast live from the O2 Arena in London on Saturday, July 1st.
