Roman Reigns will defend the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Kevin Owens one more time at the Royal Rumble.

An incensed Reigns, accompanied by The Bloodline, kicked off the January 6th edition of SmackDown. The Tribal Chief was mad that he and Sami Zayn lost to Owens and John Cena on the final SmackDown of 2022. Owens interrupted the tirade, stating that Reigns was mad at him, not Zayn. The challenge for the title at the Royal Rumble was made, which was accepted by the champion.

Owens and Reigns have fought multiple times during Roman Reigns’ lengthy championship reign. Highlights of the rivalry have included a Steel Cage match, Last Man Standing match and a TLC match.

The updated line-up for the 2023 Royal Rumble is as follows:

• Men’s Royal Rumble Match – Kofi Kingston, Santos Escobar and Rochet have been officially announced
• Bray Wyatt vs. LA Knight – Mountain Dew Pitch Black Match
• Women’s Royal Rumble match – Liv Morgan has been officially announced
• Roman Reigns (c) vs. Kevin Owens – Singles match for the Undisputed WWE Championship
