Due to the December 23rd edition of SmackDown being so close to the holidays, the upcoming episode of the blue brand has been pre-taped. The tapings took place after the December 16th SmackDown went off the air. The tapings took place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

Those in attendance have been able to provide results to the events that took place on the upcoming SmackDown. The spoilers have been obtained via Fightful.

The following events took place at the SmackDown tapings:

• Raquel Rodriguez won a Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at Ronda Rousey’s SmackDown Women’s Championship; she last defeated Shayna Baszler.
• Rey Mysterio defeated Angel. Karrion Kross and Scarlett were in the crowd during the match. Rey Mysterio told Kross to fight him, but he didn’t.
• In a promo, Bray Wyatt demanded that LA Knight apologize to him because he’s not Uncle Howdy. He attacked the cameraman filming him.
• Roman Reigns cut a promo and vowed to defeat beat Kevin Owens and John Cena next week. In the promo, it was noted that Sheamus will face Solo Sikoa on next week’s show.
• WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship: The Usos defeated Hit Row (Ashante “Thee” Adonis & Top Dolla)
• Miracle on 34th Street Fight: Braun Strowman & Ricochet defeated Imperium (Giovanni Vinci & Ludwig Kaiser)
  • At one point, the New Day (Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods), dressed as toy soldiers, were inside one of the gift boxes.
