The first entrant has been officially announced for the Men’s 2023 Royal Rumble match, which will be taking place on Saturday January 28th.

As announced on the December 2nd edition of SmackDown, Kofi Kingston is the first official entrant in the iconic WWE match.

Kingston has appeared in the Rumble match a total of 14 times. While the former WWE Champion has never won the match, Kingston is one of the most famous competitors in the match, becoming a highlight reel for his multiple saves from elimination, including walking on his hands and bouncing on a chair back to the ring.

While the iconic Rumble saves have worked for the majority of the time, Kingston was not as lucky in 2022. Despite flying from the ring to the barricade, both of Kingston’s feet hit the floor, eliminating him from the Royal Rumble match.

The winner of the Men’s and Women’s Royal Rumble matches will go on to WrestleMania to face the champion of their choosing.
