Austin Theory Fails Money In The Bank Cash-In

Austin Theory unsuccessfully cashed in the Money in the Bank contract on the November 7th Raw.

The main event of Raw would see United States Champion Seth Rollins hold an open challenge to defend the title. On the big screen, Mustafa Ali appeared to be the one to answer the challenge. However, Bobby Lashley, who Seth Rollins beat for the title, would attack Ali backstage. Lashley would then declare himself as the new challenger in the open challenge.

A brawl would break out at the ringside area, which ended with Lashley driving Rollins through the announce table. Austin Theory’s music would then play, with Mr. Money in the Bank cashing in his opportunity.

Theory looked like he had the match won, hitting A Town Down on Rollins. However, as the referee was counting the pinfall, Bobby Lashley would drag the referee out of the ring. Lashley would then drive Theory into the ring post while the official was still unconscious. It looked like Theory would be counted out, but managed to make it back into the ring just in time. Rollins would then hit the stomp to win the match and retain the title.

Austin Theory won the Money in the Bank contract at the Premium Live Event of the same name, being added into the match last minute. Following multiple unsuccessful attempts at cashing in on the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, Theory became the first ever holder of the briefcase to cash-in on a champion that was not holding one of the top titles.
