AEW World Champion has signed a 5 year extension with the company, which will also expand into coaching roles.
The news was announced via press release from AEW, which confirmed that Moley will be with All Elite Wrestling through to 2027. It should also be noted that the new deal makes Jon Moxley exclusive for AEW and their international partners, such as New Japan Pro Wrestling. As Mox is the Current GCW World Champion, it appears that this title reign will be ending shortly.
In the press release, AEW President Tony Khan has said the following:
“Jon is a great world champion for us in his third reign. His wrestling mind is invaluable, and our roster is lucky to have the opportunity to utilize him as a mentor and a coach as we continue to build the stars of today and tomorrow.”
Jon Moxley is also quoted in the press release, expressing his passion for All Elite Wrestling:
“I love AEW and the spirit of both the company and its fans,” said Jon Moxley. “I cherish our shared passion for the sport of professional wrestling, and I’m going to dedicate everything I have in mind, body and spirit to helping AEW be the best it can be going forward.”
As previously mentioned, Jon Moxley is the current AEW World Champion, being the only person to hold the title for 3 times. Mox will defend the championship against “Hangman” Adam Page on Tuesday October 18th.
