Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will be at the WWE Extreme Rules Premium Live Event, serving as a special guest referee for one of the matches.
As announced by Ariel Helwani on October 1st, Cormier will serve as the special guest referee for the Fight Pit Match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle on October 8th.
This will be Cormier’s first appearance on WWE TV. The former UFC fighter won 22 fights for the promotion, with 8 wins being via knockout. Cormier has had previous interactions with MMA/WWE crossover athletes. Following the UFC 226 event, Cormier and Lesnar would have a physical altercation inside of the octagon.
The updated card for Extreme Rules is as follows:
- Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle – Fight Pit match – Daniel Cormier to serve as special guest referee.
- Liv Morgan (c) vs. Ronda Rousey – Extreme Rules match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
- Drew McIntyre vs. Karrion Kross – Strap match.
- Bianca Belair (c) vs. Bayley – Ladder match for the Raw Women’s Championship.
- Edge vs. Finn Balor – “I Quit” match
- The Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium – Six-Man Donnybrook match
