Solo Sikoa made a surprise return to NXT on September 13th, winning the North American Championship in the process.

As announced before NXT went on the air, now former champion Carmelo Hayes was due to defend the North American Title with the opponent decided by the WWE Universe. The opponents that could be chosen by the fans were Wes Lee, Joe Gacy and Von Wagner, with Wes Lee winning the fan vote. Hayes was not happy with the circumstances, with both Hayes and Trick Williams taking out Wes Lee in the locker room.

Hayes and Williams would then come to the ring to state that Wes Lee would not be coming out to compete, and that Wes Lee was done a favour by being taken out. The lights would then go down as Solo Sikoa’s msuic hit and Sikoa made his way to the ring dressed to compete.

The title match was then made official, with the NXT Universe in full support of Solo Sikoa. Following a kick to take Trick Williams off of the apron, Sikoa would hit a splash onto Hayed to pick up the pinfall victory and become the new NXT North American Champion.

The victory marks Solo Sikoa first championship while being a part of WWE. With Sikoa now being a part of The Bloodline with Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns and Undisputed WWE Team Champions The Usos, The Bloodline’s collection of championships has now increased.
