IYO SKY and Dakota Kai are the new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion, defeating now former champions Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez on the September 12th episode of WWE Raw.

Bayley would provide interference throughout the match, at one point putting Kai’s foot on the rope to break up the pinfall attempt by Aliyah. As the former champions turned their attention to Bayley, Kai would take advantage on Aliyah, hitting a flipping backstabber to win the match and the titles.

Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah would initially win the tournament to crown new WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, defeating IYO SKY and Dakota Kai in the finals.

The victory marks the first championship reigns for both SKY and Kai on the main roster. In NXT, SKY captured the NXT Women’s Championship and NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships one time each, while Dakota Kai is a former 2 time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion. It should be noted that Kai’s partner in NXT was her opponent in the match on Raw, Raquel Rodriguez.
