The August 26th edition of SmackDown will be broadcast live from the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. This will be the final live episode of SmackDown before the Clash at the Castle Premium Live Event, which will take place on Saturday September 3rd. The go-home show will be taped after the August 26th episode.
Four teams will get another chance to become WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions on SmackDown. The teams of Shotzi and Xia Li, Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop, Natalya and Sonya Deville, Dana Brooke and Tamina will face of in a Fatal 4 Way match. The winners will face Raquel Rodriguez and Aliyah in the semi-finals of the tournament later that night.
Also announced for SmackDown is Ricochet taking on Happy Corbin in one on one competition. Both men were present in the Fatal 5 Way match to determine the next challenger for the Intercontinental Championship on the August 19th SmackDown. The match was won by Sheamus.
The following matches have been announced to take place on SmackDown:
- Xia Li and Shotzi vs. Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop vs. Tamina and Dana Brooke vs. Natalya and Sonya Deville – Fatal 4 Way match to regain entry into the Women’s Tag Team Championship Tournament. The winners will face Aliyah and Raquel Rodriguez in the semi-finals on the same show.
- Ricochet vs. Happy Corbin.
