Johnny Gargano has returned to WWE, making the surprise return on the August 22nd edition of Monday Night Raw.
The Toronto crowd erupted as Rebel Heart unexpectedly rang out through the arena, getting even louder when the former NXT Champion appeared live in front of the WWE Universe.
Gargano stated in his return promo that he had dreamed of winning the WWE Championship and wrestling at WrestleMania, stating that your dreams can come true if you work hard enough. Johnny Wrestling would then state that he is betting on himself and that he is proud to be back in WWE.
Gargano’s return promo was interrupted by Theory, who stated that with his Money in the Bank briefcase, he will become the next Undisputed WWE Universal Champion. Theory offered Gargano the chance to reunite, but Gargano instead chose to lay out Mr. Money in the Bank with a superkick.
Gargano was last seen in a WWE ring on the December 7th episode of NXT. It was reported on the 10th that Johnny Gargano was a free agent, with the former grand slam NXT Champion choosing to take time away to become a father, as his with Candice LeRae was pregnant. Gargano and LeRae welcomed son Quill into the world back in February.
