Kenny Omega returned to AEW Dynamite for the first time in over 9 months on August 17th.
The former AEW World Champion was revealed to be the mystery partner for The Young Bucks in the trios title tournament. The reunited Elite would defeat Rush, Andrade El Idolo and Dragon Lee to advance to the semi-finals of the tournament to crown the first ever AEW Trios Champions.
As Justin Roberts lasted off the accolades of Kenny Omega, the crowd gradually got louder and louder, erupting when Omega made his way onto the entrance ramp.
Omega did need to shake off some ring rust following the tag in, but overall looked great in the return match. The former AEW World Champion would win the match for his team by hitting the One Winged Angel.
After the match and after Dynamite went off the air, Kenny Omega addressed the live crowd in attendance. Omega stated that he could be mad at the fans as they are the reason that he undergoes multiple sessions of rehab, he does appreciate the fans for everything they do:
“Maybe I should be mad, too. Maybe I should be mad too because the reason why I’m in this state right now, the reason why I have to have three, sometimes four sessions of physical rehab every single day is because of you. Maybe I should hate each and every one of you because I come back out here for you guys. So what I’m gonna do right now is I’m gonna be a little strange. I don’t get out much, so I became a strange individual. I’m gonna liken you fans to a very mischievous cat that pees and poops all over the house. Boy do I get mad when I find it. Not do I get mad because I have to clean it, but heck, how could I hate a little kitty cat? So on TV, I may blame you guys. I may hold resentment towards you guys. Perhaps, deep down inside, as long as this never gets aired, I do very much appreciate you. Thank you very much,”
