CM Punk Returns On AEW Dynamite

AEW World Champion CM Punk made his return to AEW on the August 10th episode of AEW Dynamite.

The main event of the Quake by the Wake Dynamite special would see Interim AEW World Champion Jon Moxley put the title on the line against Chris Jericho. Moxley would retain the title by forcing Jericho to submit. Shortly after the match, members of the Jericho Appreciation Society would storm the ring and attack the Interim Champion.

Members of the Blackpool Combat Club and Eddie Kingston tried to even the odds, but the numbers game would prove to be too much. As it looked like Jericho was about to strike Moxley with the title, Cult of Personality would play through the arena.

CM Punk would come down to the ring and clear house, ending with both of the World Champions in the ring. Jon Moxley would flip off Punk and exit the ring, seemingly not as pleased with the return as the AEW fans in Minnesota. Punk would celebrate with the fans as Dynamite went off the air.

Punk, who won the title at the AEW Double or Nothing pay-per-view, announced that he was injured shortly afterwards. Jon Moxley would become the Interim World Champion at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view by defeating Hiroshi Tanahashi in the main event. With Punk now back in action, a match to unify the world titles will be taking place in the near future.
