Karrios Kross and Scarlett made a shocking return to WWE on the August 5th episode of SmackDown.

Kross and Scarlett made the return in the main event segment of SmackDown, launching an attack on Drew McIntyre before sending a message to the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns. McIntyre and Reigns were building towards their title showdown at Clash at the Castle.

Reigns was in the ring and stated that a few things needed to be addressed. Reigns first referenced the successful defence of the title against Brock Lesnar, where Reigns stated that while he respects Lesnar, he still hates The Beast. McIntyre interrupted the promo and said that he doesn’t want to wait until Clash at the Castle. As The Scottish Warrior was about to enter the ring, Kross’ familiar NXT entrance music would hit, where the former NXT Champion would blindside McIntyre. Scarlett, who was seen on the main roster for the first time, would place an hourglass on the ring, sending a warning to Roman Reigns.

Both Kross and Scarlett were released back in November 2021. The former NXT Champion would have a dominant run before one of the most disastrous main roster call-ups in WWE history. Kross would make his main roster debut solo while still holding the NXT title, losing in under 2 minutes to Jeff Hardy. Kross would later return to the main roster with a red leather helmet, which was repeatedly mocked by WWE fans. Karrion Kross would express his displeasure about the new ring attire in and interview with Chris Van Vliet following the WWE release.
