The NXT Women’s Tag Team Championships have new holders following the August 2nd edition of NXT 2.0.
The titles were eventually won by Katana Chance and Kayden Carter following the duo being victorious in a Fatal 4 Way elimination match. The other teams in the match were Toxic Attraction, Tatum Paxley and Ivy Nile and the team of Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz.
Leon and Feroz were eliminated first, followed by Paxley and Nile, leaving Toxic Attraction and Chance and Carter left to fight for the vacated championships. The closing moments of the match would see Chance and Carter take out Dolin on the outside before hitting the 450 finisher onto Jayne to become the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. The victory marks the first titles won by both Chance and Carter while in WWE.
The championships were originally vacated after Team 2001 imploded when Cora Jade shockingly turned on her partner Roxanne Perez. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter are now recognised as the 9th NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
