Cora Jade shockingly turned on her tag team partner Roxanne Perez on the July 12th edition of NXT, causing Perez to lose the NXT Women’s Championship match against Mandy Rose.
Following Jade and Perez becoming the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions at The Great American Bash, it was announced that Roxanne Perez would be taking on Mandy Rose with the title on the line on July 11th.
The start of NXT would see the number one contender attacked in the parking lot, with many speculating that Toxic Attraction were responsible for the assault on Perez.
Later in the show, Roxanne Perez would be cleared to compete and came to the ring with taped up ribs. The closing moments of the match would see both competitors spill to the outside, with Jacy Jayne and Gigi Dolan attempting to provide interference, but were quickly neutralised by Perez. The number one contender would then hit the Pop Rox onto Rose on the ringside floor, nearly getting counted out in the process.
Perez would then roll Mandy Rose into the ring as Cora Jade cheered on her partner. As the referee was distracted, Jade would remover her championship title and strike Perez in the back. A shocked Perez would then be hit by a knee from Rose to allow the NXT Women’s Champion to retain the title.
After the match, Jade would continue the assault, breaking a skateboard over her fellow tag team champion.
Despite the breakup taking place on NXT, both Roxanne Perez and Cora Jade are still the NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
