Wrestling Entertainment Series Nottingham Show Cancelled

New wrestling promotion Wrestling Entertainment Series [WES] have announced that the upcoming show in Nottingham has now been cancelled. The show was originally due to take place on Saturday July 9th at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England. WES have issued the following statement regarding the cancellation.

WES have stated in their address that while their team have worked hard to make this event possible, as so many talent decided to no-show the event, they had no choice but to cancel. The event was originally due to take place in June over the Jubilee bank holiday weekend in the UK, but was later postponed. Multiple talent stated that they would not be competing on the July show, but were continually advertised to appear.

Multiple fans and talent have criticised WES for blaming the talent as the reason for the show being cancelled. Chelsea Green, who was on the original line-up for the show, has stated the following:

Fightful Select have provided an update on the cancellation. The report states that there were poor ticket sales for the event with “300 to 400” tickets sold in total for the event. In regards to pay for the talent, after the issues of the first event, many international talent requested to be paid in advance before appearing on the second show, which was agreed by WES. However, performers based in the UK have yet to be paid. Adding to the issues of the event, many talent found out about the cancelled show on social media at the same time as the general public.
