A title change took place on the Great American bash special episode of NXT 2.0.
Team 2001, made up of Cora Jade and Roxanne Perez, defeated the Toxic Attraction team of Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne in the first match of the Great American Bash to become the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions.
Mandy Rose would provide interference by dragging the referee out of the ring, but was then ejected from ringside by the official. The closing moments of the match would see Perez hit the Pop Rox onto Dolin to pick up the victory and become the new champions.
The victory marks Perez’s and Jade’s first championship in NXT, adding to Perez’s accolade of winning the inaugural NXT Women’s Breakout Tournament. Roxanne Perez’s quest for gold will not stop at the Great American bash, as the new champion has the opportunity to become a double champion on July 12th. Perez will be facing Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship on the next episode of NXT 2.0.
