Claudio Castagnoli is the newest member of the AEW roster and The Blackpool Combat Club.
The man formerly known as Cesaro in WWE made his All Elite Wrestling debut at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, being revealed as the mystery opponent for Zack Sabre Jr.
Zack Sabre Jr. would make his entrance and waited for the opponent. The unknown entrance music would hit to a massive ovation from the live crowd in Chicago. However, fans at home would not see the entrance for a number of seconds, as the camera continued to focus on the live crowd. Eventually, Claudio Castagnoli would make his way to the entrance ramp wearing a Blackpool Combat Club jacket.
Castagnoli would hit his signature offence from the opening bell, delivering an uppercut and neutraliser to Zack Sabre Jr. right after the opening bell. Following a technical classic between both men, Claudio Castagnoli would defeat Sabre Jr. via pinfall.
Zack Sabre Jr. was originally due to face Bryan Danielson at Forbidden Door. However, Danielson was not cleared to compete, so instead announced on Dynamite that he had found a worthy replacement. Along with the recent signing of Claudio Castagnoli, The Swiss Cyborg will be making his Dynamite debut on June 29th. Castagnoli will be teaming with fellow Blackpool Combat Club members to take part in the second ever AEW Blood and Guts match.
