WWE SmackDown announcer Pat McAfee has issued a challenge to Happy Corbin for a match at SummerSlam.
McAfee would address the WWE Universe on the June 24th episode of SmackDown. The announcer stood on top of the announce desk with a microphone in hand to make the announcement. McAfee brought up the fact that Corbin is not happy with the way that he announces, and that Corbin stated that if they were to meet in the ring, McAfee would not like the result.
The SmackDown commentator went on to say how much he loves his job and that he feels alive when he puts on the headset. The address would finish with Pat McAfee laying down the challenge for a match against Happy Corbin at SummerSlam in Nashville on July 30th.
At the time of writing, Pat McAfee has competed in 2 matches on the main roster, with both matches happening at WrestleMania 38. In McAfee’s main roster debut, he would defeat Austin Theory on the grandest stage in sports entertainment. Immediately after the match against Theory, McAfee would go on to challenge WWE Chairman Vince McMahon to a match, in which McMahon was victorious.
Currently, only one match has been officially announced for SummerSlam, which is a Last Man Standing match between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, where Reign’s Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be defended.
