Kazuchika Okada Makes First Ever Appearance On AEW Dynamite

New Japan icon Kazuchika Okada appeared on AEW for the first time on the June 22nd broadcast of AEW Dynamite.

On Dynamite, “Hangman” Adam Page would take on former ROH TV Champion Silas Young. Adam Cole provided guest commentary throughout the match, which was won by Page following the Buck Shot Lariat. Shortly after the match, Adam Cole teased storyline, but was interrupted by IWGP Heavyweight Champion Jay White.

White stated that he was responsible for making Forbidden Door as big as it can be, and that unfortunately Adam Cole can’t challenge for the title, as he lost to Page twice. White made his way to the ring to confront Page, where The Switchblade also stated that it wouldn’t be Page. All 3 men then started to brawl, where Cole nearly struck White with the gold.

The music of The Rainmaker then rang out through the arena in Milwaukee as Okada made his way to the ring. The Rainmaker and The Cowboy would team up to take down Jay White and Adam Cole and stand tall to close the segment. It was later announced that the IWGP Heavyweight championship will be defended in a 4 Way match at Forbidden Door.

Okada is widely regarded as one of the best ever wrestlers in New Japan and of all time. The Japanese legend has won 6 World Championships in New Japan Pro Wrestling and has at the time of writing 22 matches rated 5* or higher by The Wrestling Observer Dave Meltzer.
