New Japan Announces AEW All-Atlantic Championship Qualifying Match

New Japan Pro Wrestling have announced a qualifying match for the 4 way match at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view, where the winner will become the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion.

On the New Japan Road show on Tuesday, Tomohiro Ishii will face off against Clark Connors. The winner of that match will go on to Forbidden Door, and will face PAC, Miro and either Malakai Black or Penta Oscuro. The qualifying match between Penta and Malakai Black will be taking place on the June 22nd episode of AEW Dynamite.

The current card for the Forbidden Door pay-per-view is as follows:

  • Jon Moxley vs. Hiroshi Tanahashi – The winner will be crowned the interim AEW World Champion.
  • PAC vs. Miro vs. Malakai Black or Penta Oscuro vs. Tomohiro Ishii or Clark Connors – 4 Way match to crown the inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion.
  • Will Ospreay vs. Orange Cassidy – Singles match for the IWGP United States Championship.
  • Thunder Rosa (c) vs. Toni Storm – Singles match for the AEW Women’s Championship.
  • Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki and Sammy Guevara vs. Eddie Kingston Wheeler Yuta and Shota Umino
  • FTR vs. Roppongi Vice vs. Jeff Cobb & Great-O-Khan – Winner takes all match for the ROH and IWGP Tag Team Championships.
