John Cena surprised a teenager with Down’s Syndrome who fled the Ukrainian city of Mariupol.
Misha Rohozhyn fled Ukraine along with his mother Liana due to the Russian invasion that started in February. Liana encouraged Misha to continue the journey by telling her son that they were on their way to find Misha’s hero, John Cena.
The WWE legend would surprise the family on Saturday June 5th in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Misha was able to meet his hero and hugged Cena in an emotional embrace:
When John Cena heard about the story, the decision was made without any hesitation to meet Misha. Both Cena and Misha spent the afternoon together and ate cake. As a parting gift, Cena would gift Misha a hat, T-shirt and replica championship title. In the clip posted to WWE’s YouTube channel, the 16 time World Champion can be heard saying that the day was ‘Pretty darn special.’
John Cena has become well known for his acts of kindness across the years. The WWE Superstar has granted over 650 wishes as part of the Make-A-Wish Foundation, more than any other person in the history of the charity.
On June 27th 2022 it will be exactly 20 years since John Cena first appeared on WWE television. To mark this milestone, it has been announced that Cena will be returning to Monday Night Raw to celebrate with the WWE Universe.
