AEW star Adam Cole has been battling multiple injuries according to a new report.
The report comes courtesy of Fightful Select, who state that a labrum injury is amongst the series of issues currently facing Cole. The update reports that Adam Cole has been dealing with the injury for quite a while, with it being reported that the injury goes back as far as the AEW Title feud with then champion “Hangman” Adam Page. This rivalry culminated in a Texas Death Match on the April 15th Dynamite.
The report goes on to say that sources in AEW claim that Adam Cole’s labrum has been torn, but neither Cole or All Elite Wrestling have confirmed this.
In regards to whether Adam Cole will be taking time off from in-ring competition, no confirmation has been given as to whether Cole will need time away or will be taking a lighter schedule. Cole has not wrestled since the Double or Nothing pay-per-view, where he defeated Samoa Joe in the finals of the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament.
In the episodes of AEW programming following the pay-per-view, Adam Cole has been seen in backstage segments or has provided guest commentary. It should be noted that after “Hangman” Adam Page defeated David Finlay on the June 8th Dynamite, which Cole provided guest commentary for, Page would lay down the challenge for a match at Forbidden Door against IWGP heavyweight Champion Kazuchika Okada. Cole would come to the stage after this announcement, stating that he wants to face Okada instead.
Features of Wrestling will provide updates to Adam Cole’s condition when they become available.
