The June 8th edition of AEW Dynamite will be broadcast live from the Cable Dahmer Arena in Independence, Missouri.
The show will open and conclude with implications to the AEW World Championship. On the June 3rd episode of Rampage, CM Punk announced that he was injured and unable to compete at this time. However, Punk will not be relinquishing the title. Instead, a Battle Royale will be opening the show, with the winner advancing to the main event of the show to face Jon Moxley. The winner of that match will go onto the Forbidden Door pay-per-view as the AEW representative. The winner of the AEW representative will face either Hiroshi Tanahashi or Hirooki Goto at Forbidden Door and will be crowned the Interim AEW World Champion.
It should be noted that at the time of writing, no participants have been announced for the Battle Royale.
Also competing on the show will be “Hangman” Adam Page. The former AEW World Champion will be in action, facing off against David Finlay on Dynamite.
The following matches have been announced to take place on Dynamite:
- Battle Royale to advance to the main event.
- The winner of the Battle Royale vs. Jon Moxley – The winner goes on to Forbidden Door to challenge for the AEW World Championship.
- “Hangman” Adam Page vs. David Finlay.
