WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has announced that he will be returning to in-ring action on July 31st.
The Nature Boy confirmed the rumours on his social media on May 16th. Flair has stated that he is going to “Walk that aisle, style and profile, one last time!” as part of Jim Crockett Promotions on July 31st. The social media post also contains a promotional video that states that this will be Ric Flair’s Last Match.
The 73 year old legend has not been in a wrestling match since 2011. Ric Flair’s previous official match was in IMPACT Wrestling, where the 16 time champion faced off against fellow icon Sting. At the time of writing, no opponent for Flair has been revealed for the July 31st match. It should be noted that The Wresting Observer have reported that Flair’s final match will be a six man tag team match. Dave Meltzer has claimed on Wrestling Observer Radio that Ric Flair will be teaming with Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood of FTR to face The Rock ‘n’ Roll Express [Ricky Morton & Robert Gibson] and a partner yet to be determined.
The match will be taking place at the Nashville Fairgrounds and will be streamed on FITE.
Rumours of Ric Flair returning to action started after a recent video of Ric Flair bumping with AEW star Jay Lethal was also seen on social media:
