Josh Alexander vs. Eric Young Announced For IMPACT Wrestling Slammiversary 2022

Eric Young will be challenging IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander for the title at the IMPACT Wrestling pay-per-view Slammiversary on Sunday June 19th 2022.

A Gauntlet for the Gold match took place on the May 12th edition of IMPACT Wrestling, in which 20 stars competed for the right to face The Walking Weapon at the upcoming pay-per-view. The rules of the match are that 20 competitors enter at 2 minute intervals. The final 2 competitors then fight it out with the winner being determined by pinfall or submission.

The competitors in the match were Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Eddie Edwards, Vincent, Steve Maclin, Shark Boy, Bhupinder Gujjar, PCO, Moose, Rich Swann, W. Morrissey, Eric Young, Raj Singh, Shera, Heath, Rhyno, Black Taurus, Matt Rehwoldt, Johnny Swinger, and Trey Miguel.

The final 2 came down to Eric Young and entrant number 1 Chris Sabin. Young hit the piledriver onto Sabin to pick up the pinfall victory and win the Gauntlet for the Gold.

The following matches have been confirmed to take place at Slammiversary:

  • Josh Alexander (c) vs. Eric Young – Singles match for the IMAPCT World Championship.
  • Tasha Steelz (c) vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jordynne Grace vs. Deonna Purrazzo vs. Mia Yim – Queen of the Mountain match for the Knockout’s Championship.
  • Ace Austin (c) vs. Kenny King vs. Mike Bailey or Laredo Kid vs. 3 TBD – Ultimate X match for the X Division Championship.
