A previously announced match due to take place at the WrestleMania Backlash Premium Live Event will no longer be taking place.
The original match saw Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro face SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos. The winners of this match would hold both brand’s titles and would unify the championships. However, the match has now been changed to The Usos teaming with Roman Reigns to face the team of RK-Bro and Drew McIntyre.
The contract signing for the original unification match took place on the April 29th episode of SmackDown. Before the contract could be signed by both teams, the segment broke down into a brawl between the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Roman Reigns would then come to the ring to provide assistance for The Bloodline, tearing up the contract in front of Riddle. Drew McIntyre would then come to the ring to even the odds, standing tall to end the segment.
Following a commercial break, Paul Heyman would enter the office of WWE Official Adam Pearce. Heyman stated that the match would now be a six man tag team match instead of the initial unification match. While Pearce initially protested the revised plans, Heyman persuaded the official for the match to be changed.
The following is the updated line-up for WrestleMania Backlash:
- Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins.
- Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Ronda Rousey – “I Quit” match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
- Roman Reigns and The Usos vs. Drew McIntyre and RK-Bro.
- AJ Styles vs. Edge.
- Bobby Lashley vs. Omos
- Happy Corbin vs. Madcap Moss
