The April 29th edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be broadcast from Albany, New York. This episode of SmackDown has been pre-taped due to the WWE roster touring the UK at the time of broadcast.
A championship match will be taking place on the show. Following Shanky confronting Intercontinental Champion Ricochet on April 22nd, the title match has been made official for SmackDown.
Drew McIntyre also looks to finally get his hands on Sami Zayn on the upcoming episode. Zayn has been dodging McIntyre for a number of weeks, much to the frustration of both The Scottish Warrior and the WWE Universe. To prevent further escapes by Sami Zayn, WWE Official Adam Pearce has booked a steel cage match to take place on the April 29th show.
Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey will build towards their “I Quit” match at WrestleMania Backlash on SmackDown. Both Flair and Rousey will be competing against separate opponents in a beat the clock challenge, where the aim is to submit their respective opponent as quickly as possible.
The following matches have been announced to take place on SmackDown:
- Drew McIntyre vs. Sami Zayn – Steel Cage match.
- Ricochet (c) vs. Shanky – Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship.
- Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey to compete in beat the clock challenges.
It should be noted that due to the show being pre-taped, spoilers have been posted online by those in attendance. To see spoilers from the April 29th SmackDown click here.
