All Elite Wrestling have announced the first match for the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
The confirmed match will see AEW World Champion “Hangman” Adam Page defend the title against CM Punk. The news was announced during the April 27th broadcast of AEW Dynamite.
During the video announcement, JR on commentary did state this would be the main event of the pay-per-view. Punk, who was providing guest commentary in the opening match between FTR partners Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood, would step away from the desk after the match to address the live crowd in Philadelphia. Punk would say to the crowd that he feels that he can still do this, and would become the next AEW World Champion.
At the time of writing, this is the only match confirmed for Double or Nothing. However, it should be noted that the finals of the Men’s and Women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament finals are due to take place.
AEW Double or Nothing will be airing live from the T-Mobile arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday May 29th.
