All Elite Wrestling and New Japan Pro Wrestling will co-host the pay-per-view Forbidden Door on Sunday June 26th.
The announcement was made on the April 20th edition of AEW Dynamite. Ahead of the show, it was announced that AEW president Tony Khan had a major announcement, which would be revealed on the show. Tony Schiavone would introduce Khan to the entrance ramp on the show, with the AEW president then introducing NJPW president Takami Ohbari, who received a great ovation from the AEW crowd.
Khan’s announcement was then cut off by Adam Cole, who was standing in the backstage area. Cole stated that he is the only person big enough to make the announcement, who then went on to say that Forbidden Door pay-per-view would be airing live from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday June 26th.
Bullet Club member Jay White would then make his way to the stage to state that this is still the era of The Bullet Club to close out the segment.
The announcement continues the strong relationship between the two promotions, with multiple NJPW talent appearing on AEW television and vice versa.
