The ratings for the April 8th 2022 episodes of WWE SmackDown and AEW Rampage have been published. On average, 2.230 million watched SmackDown and 600,000 people watched Rampage. The numbers have been obtained by Brandon Thurston from Wrestlenomics:
SmackDown has seen a drop in viewers compared to the previous week. As the April 1st SmackDown drew an average audience of 2.359 million, the drop calculates to approximately 5.5%. SmackDown saw 788,000 people aged between 18 and 49 years old watch the post WrestleMania show, equating to a rating of 0.60. This rating is down from the 0.61 rating from April 1st.
Rampage saw an increase in viewers compared to the previous week. As the April 1st Rampage saw an average audience of 456,000, the change in viewers calculates to approximately 31.6%. In regards to key demographic viewership, Rampage saw 328,000 people watch the show in the key age range, equating to a 0.25 rating. This is up from the April 1st rating of 0.15. It should be noted that AEW loaded the Rampage card with bigger matches than what is usually seen on the Friday show.
SmackDown saw the fallout from WrestleMania 38, including the debuts of Gunther and Raquel Rodriguez. Rampage saw 2 matches featuring the Blackpool Combat Club, with a critically acclaimed match between Jon Moxley and Wheeler Yuta.
