Johnny Knoxville Defeats Sami Zayn At WrestleMania 38

Jackass star Johnny Knoxville was victorious in a match against Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 38.

Knoxville was able to pin Zayn with the help of a giant mousetrap in an Anything Goes watch on night 2 of WrestleMania. The match featured multiple comedic weapon spots and cameo appearances from the cast of Jackass. The appearance by Wee Man and subsequent attack on Sami Zayn got the biggest cheer of the match from the WrestleMania crowd.

The match came to be as a result of Johnny Knoxville making Sami Zayn’s life a living hell. Knoxville would first distract Zayn in a match where the WWE Superstar was Intercontinental Champion at the time. The distraction by the Hollywood star would cause Sami Zayn to lose the title to Ricochet. The former Intercontinental Champion would go on to challenge Knoxville to an Anything Goes match at WrestleMania, which was later accepted by the Jackass star.

Sami Zayn would take control early in the match, hitting a Helluva Kick shortly after the bell rang and sending Johnny Knoxville to the outside. Knoxville would briefly take control with spots including a fire extinguisher and remotely setting off the pyro. Shortly afterwards, Jackass stars including Chris Pontius and Wee Man providing interference. Zayn would eventually take control once again before Knoxville threw him onto a table covered in mousetraps on the outside.

The closing of the match saw the Jackass crew pull a giant mousetrap from under the ring and trap Sami Zayn underneath. With Zayn unable to kick out, Johnny Knoxville pinned the SmackDown star to pick up the win.

This is Johnny Knoxville’s second match in WWE. Knoxville competed in the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble, but was eliminated shortly after entering by Sami Zayn.
