Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE, according to a new report.
The former AEW star will be returning to WWE, which has been reported by PWInsider. The update states that Rhodes signed the contract around 2 weeks ago and is set to debut at WrestleMania. The report concludes with announcing which brand Rhodes is expected to appear on:
Cody Rhodes has signed with WWE, multiple WWE sources have confirmed. Rhodes inked his deal about 10-14 days ago.
The current plan is to have Rhodes debut Wrestlemania weekend with the early word among those in the company being that Rhodes will be on the Raw brand.
Cody Rhodes and wife Brandi both announced their exit from All Elite Wrestling in February 2022. Both Cody and Brandi were founding members of the promotion and each having a backstage role. Cody and Brandi were Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer of AEW respectively.
If Cody were to appear on WWE TV, this will be the first time that the former Intercontinental Champion will be appearing onscreen for the promotion since May 2016. Following the departure, Rhodes would go on to have a successful in promotions such as Ring of Honor, TNA and New Japan before being part of the creation of All Elite Wrestling.
While Cody Rhodes has been rumoured to appear at WrestleMania, it is unknown whether this will be for an appearance or a match.
