Kevin Owens has challenged “Stone Cold” Steve Austin to make an in-person appearance at WrestleMania.
The challenge was laid down during the March 7th episode of Monday Night Raw. Following Owens and Rollins failing to capture the Raw Tag Team Championships at the start of the show, KO came out later on to cut a promo to the live crowd. Owens confirmed that he does not have a match at Wrestlemania, but has a plan to get onto the card. Instead of competing in-ring, Kevin Owens will host a special edition of The KO Show talk show in Dallas, Texas. After deliberating over multiple Texans to be the special guest, Owens challenged Austin to appear.
Kevin Owens has been insulting the host state of Texas over a number of weeks, seemingly setting up a showdown at WrestleMania with a Texas born WWE legend. Owens stated that The Texas Rattlesnake is broken down and can barely walk. The former Universal Champion promised that he would hit a stunner onto Austin and leave him laying in front of the Hall of Famer’s hometown.
Steve Austin has been rumoured to appear in some capacity at WrestleMania 38 for a number of months, with initial reports dating back to December 2021. Various reports have surfaced recently where Austin could be competing in-ring at WrestleMania, as opposed to just appearing in a non-wrestling capacity. However, the announcement on Raw regarding The KO Show appears to dispute the in-ring return rumours.
