The March 4th edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be broadcast live from the FTX arena in Miami, Florida. Two championship matches and Ronda Rousey competing are amongst the pre-advertised matches announced by WWE.
Ronda Rousey will be competing in-ring on the blue brand for the first time. Following the surprise attack by WWE Official Sonya Deville to Rousey on the February 25th SmackDown, it was announced that Deville would be facing Rousey on March 4th. This will also continue the build towards the showdown between Rousey and Charlotte Flair, as Ronda will be challenging Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at WrestleMania.
The two title matches taking place will be for the Intercontinental and SmackDown Tag Team Championships. Following a confrontation between Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn and Ricochet on February 25th, Zayn will be defending the title against Ricochet on the show. In regards to the SmackDown Tag Team Championships, the champions The Usos were originally due to defend the titles against The Viking Raiders at the Elimination Chamber Premium Live Event. However, due to a pre-match brawl taking place at Elimination Chamber, the match never took place. The match will finally take place on March 4th.
The following matches have been announced to take place on SmackDown by WWE:
- Ronda Rousey vs. Sonya Deville.
- Sami Zayn (c) vs. Ricochet – Singles match for the Intercontinental Championship.
- The Usos (c) vs. The Viking Raiders – Tag team match for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
