Pat McAfee To Wrestle At WrestleMania 38

Pat McAfee will be competing in a match at WrestleMania 38. The news was officially announced by Vince McMahon on March 3rd.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, McMahon appeared for a rare interview. During the conversation, the WWE chairman offered McAfee the match at the stupendous Premium Live Event:

“I want to offer you something. I know you love what we do and you’re part of the team, big time. People in the organization really enjoy you. Fans all over the world really enjoy you being you. You can’t find anyone, I can’t imagine back in the day Bob Costas standing up on the desk and dancing. You’re you and that’s why it works. With that, I’d like to offer you an opportunity to actually wrestle at WrestleMania. In the ring. It would be different than when you play for the Colts. You were the punter. Now, in the ring, you’re going to be a linebacker,” said Vince.

“There’s been a lot of chatter on the internet about me getting back in the ring and wrestling at WrestleMania. I’ve had so many conflicted feelings because I’m out of shape. There’s a lot of vitamins that go into these lungs. WrestleMania is the standard. I would love to,” McAfee said.

At the time of writing, the opponent for Pat McAfee has not been announced. However, Vince McMahon has stated that McAfee will have an admirable opponent:

“We’ll find a worthy opponent for you and put you in the ring. I don’t bullshit. I don’t do that,” said Vince.

Pat McAfee currently provides commentary on Friday Night SmackDown. McAfee has twice competed in NXT, once against Adam Cole at TakeOver 30 and in a WarGames match at WarGames 2021. This will be Pat McAfee’s first match on the main roster.

In the same interview, it was announced that Vince McMahon will be the one who will have the honour of inducting The Undertaker into the WWE Hall of Fame.
