CM Punk Vs. MJF – Dog Collar Match Announced For AEW Revolution

The date and stipulation for the rematch between CM Punk and MJF has been set. At AEW Revolution, which takes place on Sunday March 6th, Punk and MJF will face off one more time. The stipulation for the match is a Dog Collar match.

The first time that CM Punk and MJF faced each other, MJF was victorious by using the Dynamite Diamond Ring to defeat CM Punk in Chicago, the hometown of Punk. On the February 9th edition of Dynamite, Punk earned his right to a rematch at any time, place and stipulation by teaming up with Jon Moxley to defeat FTR.

The February 16th episode of Dynamite opened with CM Punk sitting cross legged in the middle of the ring with a cardboard box. Punk then stated that the rematch would take place at the Revolution pay-per-view and debated what match type the rematch should be. Initially, Punk teased a cage match, stating that MJF can still run away and Wardlow could still interfere in this match. CM Punk then opened the cardboard box and took out 2 dog collars joined together with a chain, and announced the rematch would be a Dog Collar Match. MJF came out to the entrance ramp, but was booed back to the locker room.

This is only the second Dog Collar match to take place in the history of All Elite Wrestling. The other match saw Cody Rhodes defeat the late, great, Mr. Brodie Lee to become the new TNT Champion.
