Ronda Rousey Returns To WWE & Wins Royal Rumble

Ronda Rousey returned to WWE at the 2022 Royal Rumble and went on to win the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Rousey made a surprise return during the match by entering in the 28th position to a massive ovation from the St. Louis crowd. The former Raw Women’s Champion eliminated Charlotte Flair last to win the rumble match, this was also Rousey’s first time entering the Royal Rumble.

Providing none of the champions lose their titles before WrestleMania, Ronda Rousey can challenge either Becky Lynch for the Raw Women’s Championship, Charlotte Flair for the SmackDown Women’s Championship, or Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship. Rousey has also been announced to appear on the January 31st edition of Monday Night Raw, possibly to already announce which championship she will be challenging for at WrestleMania.

Ronda Rousey has not been seen on WWE TV since main eventing WrestleMania 35. In the match, Rousey defended the Raw Women’s Championship against Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair, with The Queen also defending the SmackDown Women’s Championship in the main event. Becky Lynch would go on to win the match, becoming the winner take all dual champion, earning the nickname “Becky 2 belts.”

Rousey took time away from the ring to start a family, giving birth to her first daughter in September 2021.
