Bobby Lashley is the new WWE Champion after defeating Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.
Lashley defeated Lesnar via pinfall due to interference by Roman Reigns towards the end of the match. Brock Lesnar looked to have The All Mighty beaten following an F5. However, during the execution of the finisher, Lashley’s leg struck the referee, rendering the official unconscious. Lesnar pinned Lashley for a considerable amount of time, but there was no referee to make the count official.
Reigns then stormed to the ring and blindsided The Beast Incarnate. The Universal Champion then motioned to Paul Heyman to hand over the WWE Championship, to which The Special Counsel agreed to. Reigns would then strike Lesnar with the title, allowing Bobby Lashley to be victorious.
Following the attack on Lesnar, Roman Reigns made his way up the entrance ramp, also followed by Paul Heyman. Following the events that took place during the match, it appears that Reigns and Heyman are reunited once again.
This victory by Bobby Lashley now makes The All Mighty a 2 time WWE Champion, with the first reign taking place after defeating The Miz inside the WWE ThunderDome in early 2021. The most recent reign with the title by Lesnar is the shortest for The Beast, as Brock captured the WWE Championship for a 6th time at the Day 1 Premium Live Event.
