Johnny Knoxville has announced his intention to enter the 2022 Men’s Royal Rumble match. The actor posted a video to his Instagram page on January 1st, shortly before the Day 1 pay-per-view.
In the video, the Jackass star wishes his fans a happy new year and promotes the upcoming Jackass Forever movie, which is due to be released on February 4th. Knoxville then states that he wants to do something big for 2022, and then mentions the Royal Rumble. The actor also calls out the WWE roster, and says that no one will be able to throw him over the top rope.
The video was also shown and discussed by the announce team during Day 1. While no official announcement has been made, it appears that due to the video being featured on WWE programming and on their social media, Johnny Knoxville will be seen in the Royal Rumble match on January 30th.
At the time of writing, no WWE superstars have been officially announced for either Royal Rumble match. One superstar who is now unlikely to enter the match will be Brock Lesnar, who became the new WWE Champion at Day 1.
If Johnny Knoxville does compete in the Royal Rumble, he will not be the first celebrity to do so. Back in 2001, TV host Drew Carey made an appearance at the 2001 event, which earned Carey a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame.
