An update has been provided on the contract status of NXT star Johnny Gargano. As reported by Fightful Select, the former NXT Champion will see his current deal with WWE expire on December 10th. If this report is correct, this means that NXT WarGames will be the final appearance in WWE for Gargano.
It was previously reported by Dave Meltzer that Johnny Gargano’s contract in WWE was originally set to expire on December 3rd, meaning that an appearance at the upcoming NXT pay-per-view was in doubt. The Fightful Select report also states that the NXT superstar has signed a one week extension to the WWE deal, meaning that Gargano will be available for WarGames.
Johnny Gargano has been a mainstay in NXT and has competed on the brand since 2016. Gargano has competed in a variety of matches during his time for the brand, but there is still one m,atch to check off the list for the former North American Champion:
In his time in NXT, Johnny Gargano has captured the NXT and NXT Tag Team Championships one time each, and has won the North American Championship three times.
On Sunday December 5th, Gargano will team with Tommaso Ciampa, Pete Dunne and LA Knight to face the team of Bron Breakker, Carmelo Hayes, Tony D’Angelo and Grayson Waller in a WarGames match.
