Miro Replaces Jon Moxley In AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament & Advances To Finals

The finals of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament have been set. Originally, the semi-final match due to take place on the November 3rd Dynamite was going to see Orange Cassidy face Jon Moxley. However, due to the news that Jon will be entering an alcohol treatment program, the former AEW World Champion has understandably exited the tournament. AEW president Tony Khan, who initially broke the news, also announced on Wrestling Observer Live that a replacement would be announced on Dynamite.

Shortly after the first match of the show, which saw Kenny Omega defeat Alan “V” Angels, a graphic came on-screen showing that Miro would be facing Cassidy on Dynamite. The match happened in the main event of Dynamite, with the majority of the match taking place in picture in picture die to the final commercial break taking place. The closing moments of the match saw Miro lock in The Game Over, which forced Orange Cassidy to submit instantly. After the match, Danielson, who was on guest commentary for the main event, made his way to the ring to meet the former TNT Champion face to face. Bryan offered the handshake, but Miro refused as Dynamite went off the air.

Miro will face Bryan Danielson in the finals of the tournament at the Full Gear pay-per-view on Saturday November 13th. The winner of this match will earn a future championship opportunity against the winner of the AEW World Championship match between champion Kenny Omega and challenger “Hangman” Adam Page.
