WWE have trademarked a new nickname to be used by Universal Champion Roman Reigns. The term “The Suplex-orcist” and “The Suplexorcist” have seen a trademarks filed by WWE on the United States Trademark and Patent Office. The website states that the two terms will be used for the following uses:
“Wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports via an online community portal“
G & S: Clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, pajamas, scarves, gloves; Halloween and masquerade costumes; footwear, namely, shoes, sneakers, slippers, flip flops; headwear, namely, hats, caps; wrist bands; bandanas; championship trophy belts
If the trademark applications are successful, then WWE can use these terms for both merchandising and to own the character names.
The term “Suplexorcist” was first heard on the October 8th SmackDown. Paul Heyman, who is serving as special counsel for Roman Reigns, was addressing Brock Lesnar via the camera to hype the upcoming match at Crown Jewel.
