Olympic gold medallist Gable Steveson will be wrestling on Monday Night Raw in the near future, due to the events that took place on night two of the WWE Draft.
Gable Steveson was selected for Raw in round 6 of the WWE Draft on the October 4th episode of the red brand. Steveson has been fast-tracked to the main roster, as opposed to starting off in the WWE developmental brand NXT. While many have seen the skill of the Olympic champion in a freestyle background, Gable Steveson has yet to have a televised match inside of a professional wrestling ring.
Shortly following the announcement, the broadcast went live to the home of Gable Steveson’s family, where Steveson was seen celebrating following the news of the draft.
The Olympic gold medal winner’s signing with WWE was announced in early September 2021. Although signed to WWE, Steveson will still be competing in freestyle wrestling. As part of the agreement, Gable Steveson will be defending his NCAA title for the University of Minnesota.
