SmackDown Women’s Championship To Be Defended At Crown Jewel

The next defence for the SmackDown Women’s Championship has been announced. Champion Becky Lynch will defend her title against both Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks in a Triple Threat match. The Championship match will take place at the upcoming WWE pay per view Crown Jewel on Thursday October 21st. WWE announced the match on their social media on Friday, October 1st.

However, the champion Becky Lynch was not pleased by the announcement:

Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair recently faced off for the SmackDown Women’s Championship at the Extreme Rules pay per view. Towards the end of the match, it looked like Belair was about to regain her title. However, a retuning Sasha Banks ran to the ring and attacked both champion and challenger. The result of this interference caused the match to end in a no contest.

This will be the second time that the SmackDown Women’s Championship has been defended on a Saudi Arabia pay per view. Back at Super Showdown 2020, champion Bayley defended the championship against Naomi.

Becky Lynch vs. Bianca Belair vs. Sasha Banks is now the second match officially added to the Crown Jewel pay per view. The other match due to take place will see Roman Reigns defend his Universal Championship against Brock Lesnar.
