Tommy Dreamer Reportedly Suspended From IMPACT Wrestling

Tommy Dreamer will not be making an appearance at the upcoming IMPACT tapings. In a report published by Fightful, Dreamer has been suspended indefinitely. This report has also been corroborated by PWInsider, who states that IMPACT official Ed Nordholm issued an email to the IMPACT roster to inform them of the suspension of Tommy Dreamer.

The reason for the suspension is due to comments made by Tommy Dreamer on the Plane Ride From Hell episode of the VICE TV series Dark Side of the Ring. The episode focused on the infamous private flight back in 2002 from Europe to America, featuring WWE Superstars and officials.

On the show, Heidi Doyle, who was a flight attendant on this flight, recounted the traumatic events that occurred. Heidi Doyle alleged that former WWE star Ric Flair approached her wearing his robe and nothing underneath it. Flair then allegedly forced the flight attendant to touch his penis. Tommy Dreamer made the following comments about this incident:

“He could move his hips, twirl it and so his well-endowed penis spins around like a helicopter. So, hey, he’s the Nature Boy for a reason, he’s got a hammer on him. Ric Flair’s not going to try to impose by force any sexual stuff onto anybody. He’s just flaunting, styling and profiling, doing the Ric Flair stuff where everybody’s going to laugh about it. But obviously, someone took offense to it.”

Heidi did go on to state that she believes that there was no intention by Flair to rape her. Dreamer did not take the allegations seriously, claiming that it was a joke and appropriate for back in 2002. Dreamer went on to say that in 2021 this would not be appropriate, as people are offended more easily:

“I feel this is trying to portray someone as a sexual predator, and it’s not. It’s a joke. It’s a gag. Today, it’s 1000% inappropriate. My hairstyle is inappropriate right now. I’m somehow offending someone right now with my double ponytail. How dare I have two ponytail? My answer is I’m 50 years old and I’m happy I have hair. If you’re asking me, I’ve hung out with Ric Flair. I’ve never seen him try to force his will onto anyone.”

Features of Wrestling will provide any updates to this story when they become available. H/t to Fightful for the use of transcriptions.
