Match Reportedly Cut From WWE SmackDown

A match from the Super SmackDown show in Madison Square Garden was reportedly cut from the show. A report from Fightful Select states that a women’s tag team match featuring the team of Carmella and Zelina Vega facing Liv Morgan and Toni Storm was originally due to air on the blue brand. However, as seen on SmackDown, this match did not take place. In total, only one women’s segment took place on the September 10th episode, which was the contract signing between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair for their upcoming match at Extreme Rules.

It has been stated that the reason why this match was cut from the show was due to time constraints. Both Carmella and Liv Morgan tweeted ellipses on Friday night, seemingly acknowledging the news:

Zelina Vega, another reported participant, posted photos of what would have been her in-ring for the cancelled match:

The Super SmackDown show saw the return of Brock Lesnar to WWE TV, where The Beast confronted both Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman. The show closed with the return of “The Demon” Finn Balor, who also confronted Roman Reigns as SmackDown went off the air.
