WWE 2K22 will be released in March 2022. The announcement was made during a commercial spot on the SummerSlam pay per view. The release date comes at the end of a new trailer for the game:

The trailer is the first full trailer for 2K22. Before this, the only official news from the game came in the form of a teaser trailer and screenshots released on social media.

It should be noted that the release date goes against the normal trend of the 2K release schedule. Traditionally, WWE’s official video game is released the year before the title of the game. For example, WWE 2K20 was released in Autumn 2019. The additional time before release will hopefully prevent the fan backlash received from 2K20, following the games unplayability due to glitches. Also, following WWE’s frequent releasing and signing of talent, it will be interesting to see which superstars are available in the final version of the game.

Also during SummerSlam, WWE announced that they will be returning to Saudi Arabia in October. More information on this can be found here.
