The RAW Tag Team Championship changed hands at SummerSlam. Randy Orton and Riddle defeated AJ Styles and Omos to become the new champions at the pay per view in the opening match of the show.
To win the match, Randy hit an RKO onto AJ Styles. This was following AJ taking out Riddle on the outside of the ring. the Original Bro had previously neutralised the giant by pushing Omos into the ring post. Both Riddle and Orton posed with the titles in the ring and on the entrance ramp following the victory.
RK-Bro had an interview with WWE Digital after the victory, where Riddle claimed that the team may go clubbing in Vegas to celebrate. In an interview on the SummerSlam main show, The Original Bro also teased that a surprise for Randy may take place on the August 23rd edition of Monday Night RAW.
This is Riddle’s first tag team title on the main roster. In NXT, Riddle did capture the tag team championships as part of The Broserweights with Pete Dunne. On the main roster, Riddle is a former United States Champion. For Orton, this is his third reign as a tag team champion. The Viper has previously held championships with Bray Wyatt and Edge.
